Who we are

This privacy policy covers Poppies (UK) Limited (company number 02044886), registered office 71 Burscough Street, Ormskirk, Lancashire, L39 2EL, trading as Poppies. It explains how we handle personal data collected through our franchise recruitment website and related enquiries. It does not cover poppies.co.uk, our domestic cleaning customer site, which has its own privacy policy.

Information we collect

When you use one of our enquiry forms — for example to request a prospectus, book a call, check territory availability, register for a webinar or apply for a franchise — we collect the details you provide, which may include your name, email address, phone number, postcode or area of interest, franchise model preference, investment level, timescale and any message you send us. If you apply for a franchise, we also collect the further information requested in our application form.

We also collect technical information automatically when you visit our site, such as pages viewed and general usage patterns, through analytics tools described below.

Lawful basis for processing

We process your enquiry and application details on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to franchise enquiries and progressing applications, and because doing so is a necessary step before entering into a franchise agreement with you, where relevant. Where you tick the marketing consent box on a form, we rely on your consent to send you further franchise news and updates, which you can withdraw at any time.

How we use your data

We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry, discuss territory availability, progress your franchise application, and — where you have consented — send you occasional franchise marketing updates. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry and application data for as long as necessary to progress your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch, after which it is deleted or anonymised. If you become a Poppies franchisee, information relevant to your franchise agreement is retained for as long as required by that agreement and by our legal and accounting obligations.

Sharing your data

We share personal data with trusted service providers who help us run this website and manage enquiries on our behalf, such as our customer relationship management and email marketing provider. These providers are only permitted to use your data to deliver the service we ask them to. We do not share your data with other organisations for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site, operating under Google's Consent Mode so that analytics cookies are only set once you have given your consent through our cookie banner. You can change your cookie preferences at any time, and you can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to ask for your data in a portable format.
