What does a Poppies franchise cost?

A clear, honest look at the investment. Packages run from £7,999 + VAT to £18,999 + VAT, with a portion spent on your launch marketing and ongoing fees applied as the network already does for every franchise.

Two investment levels, one proven model

Which package suits you depends on whether you want to start hands-on or build a managed team from day one.

What your franchise fee actually covers

A percentage of your investment goes straight into proven launch marketing so enquiries start arriving from day one.

  • Low initial set-up

Packages start far below the typical £30,000–£40,000 franchise fee, without cutting back on the support you get.

  • Low ongoing financial risk

No premises, no leases, no stock beyond cleaning supplies. Your fixed costs stay small while margins build.

  • Quick break-even

The model is designed so you can reach break-even inside the first six months rather than years in.

  • Huge, growing demand

Domestic cleaning is a billion-pound UK market, and you carry the branding of a recognised national name.

  • No premises or leases

Run the business from home with a laptop and a decent broadband connection. Add a shop front later only if you want to.

  • Recurring income streams

Regular cleaning contracts create repeat business, so the clients you win this month keep paying next year.

  • Poppies Training Academy

Structured training tailored to your experience, from complete novice to confident business owner.

  • Marketing that fills your diary

A launch campaign, proven lead-generation methods and national brand awareness working in your territory.

  • Mentoring and a buddy programme

Direct access to managing director Chris Wootton, an active franchisee network and a formal buddy scheme.

  • Technology and systems

The scheduling, quoting and back-office systems the network already runs on — no software to build or choose.

Working capital and ongoing fees

Be realistic about cash flow in year one, and clear about what you pay the franchisor as you grow.

Alongside your franchise package, you will need working capital to grow the business through its first year, before your recurring client base is fully established. This covers things like staff wages, supplies and day-to-day running costs while your diary fills up.

Like any franchise, Poppies also charges an ongoing management service fee once you are trading. We do not publish the exact percentage here, because it is one of the figures that forms part of the full financial model in the prospectus — but we do run periodic offers on ongoing fees for a limited number of new franchise partners, so it is worth asking what is currently available.

No premises, no lease. Because the business runs from home with a laptop and a decent broadband connection, you avoid the property costs that weigh down many other franchise models.

Funding your Poppies franchise

Most franchisees fund their package from a mix of savings and finance.

  • Personal savings covering some or all of your liquid capital requirement
  • Franchise-specific business loans, which some banks offer against an established, bfa-member brand like Poppies
  • A phased start — the owner-operator package lets you launch for less and grow into a management franchise later

Full costs, worked examples and funding guidance are covered in the prospectus. Compare the two packages side by side before you decide.
